LAS VEGAS—In what turned into one of the signature moments of the 2024 AVN Show, Brazzers on Friday unveiled Ryan Reid as their newest contract star.
Wearing a white G-string bikini ensemble and silver-sequined, thigh-high boots, Reid took the stage in front of a raucous crowd at the Brazzers booth after an introduction from fellow ZZ contract girl Abella Danger.
She impressed the Brazzers brass in 16 scenes since 2021—more than enough for her to prove she can perform with some of the best in the business.
“This means everything to me,” Ryan told AVN. “I feel like ever since I started in porn I wanted to find a company that let me be me—and Brazzers did that for me. They let me be who I wanted to be.”
Hundreds of fans attending the AVN Show made their way to the ZZ booth at the Resorts World Event Center to watch the ceremony that also featured all the Brazzers contract stars—along with several other top performers—joining Reid on stage to celebrate.
“It was super surreal and amazing,” Reid said tearfully when it was over. “I’m so emotional right now.”
Ryan attended her first AVN Show in January 2020 at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, where she danced and teased at Riley Reid’s ReidMyLips booth, creating a buzz on the show floor as many people asked, "who's that girl?"
Riley took Ryan under her wing from there, shooting her in her first-ever sex scene for her site in 2019 and then connecting her with agent Mark Spiegler for her first studio booking in 2020.
Flash forward to October 2023, when Brazzers announced Ryan’s highly anticipated first studio anal scene with a guy—which was titled “Anal Ground and Pound.”
ZZ stud Ricky Johnson did the honors.
But Ryan said that her path to a Brazzers exclusive contact was anything but easy in the past four years.
“It was really hard,” Ryan admitted. “Mental illness is such a serious thing in the industry and it’s definitely something I struggled with. So finding a company that let me break out and do what I wanted to do… I didn’t plan to be here on this earth that long and without Brazzers I wouldn’t be here.”
She recalled how she moved to LA from her native Pittsburgh in 2019 to give adult entertainment a shot.
“I was 19 years old and I had no money in my bank account but I had a dream to make it, and I was like fuck it, I’m gonna try,” Reid recalls. “And I tried and I succeeded. I didn’t succeed at first though. It took time—a lot of time.”
Reid said her previous job was making smoothies and doing takeout at a pizza joint.
She received three nominations for the 2024 AVN Awards Show on Saturday night, including Best Supporting Actress for her role in Seth Gamble’s Reckless for Wicked Pictures.
“That also is very surreal,” Ryan said. “I feel like I’m not that cool of a person to be nominated for something. I’m like why? Why me?”
Spiegler can answer that one.
“She’s the perfect girl for [Brazzers] because she’s like a nympho,” Spiegler, who has represented eight of the past 10 winners of the Female Performer of the Year award, told AVN. “But to me what sets her apart is her personality. When you meet her it's all personality."
