A Trailblazer with a Purpose
Abby Rose has never been one to back down from a challenge. As the first female Marine to pass the Corps’ Howitzer Section Chief Course, a rising star in the entertainment industry, and a passionate mental health advocate, she continues to push boundaries. However, one of her most personal and impactful ventures is The Happy Bean Project—a nonprofit coffee initiative she founded in 2019 to support individuals struggling with mental health challenges.
A Mission Rooted in Experience
For Rose, mental health awareness is more than a cause—it’s a personal journey.
“My brother has struggled with mental health, drug addiction, and homelessness for over a decade. While serving in the Marine Corps, I was diagnosed as bipolar. I know firsthand how crucial support and understanding are,” Rose shared. “That’s why I started The Happy Bean Project—to create a space where people feel seen, valued, and supported.”
From Coffee to Community Outreach
What started as a small online coffee shop quickly transformed into a hands-on outreach program, offering free coffee and essential resources to those in need. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, The Happy Bean Project was active in multiple cities across the U.S. and Canada, with teams of volunteers delivering warm drinks and meaningful conversations to homeless communities.
Now based in Texas, the initiative continues its mission through local outreach events, connecting individuals with mental health resources, housing, and employment assistance.
A Commitment Beyond Career
Despite her growing career in the entertainment industry, Rose remains dedicated to her advocacy work.
“Mental health is something I will always be open to talking about. It affects so many people—especially in high-stress jobs like the military and entertainment industries,” she stated. “No matter where my career takes me, I will always give back and spread awareness.”
